BTW... I love that pic below, Circe. haha
I thought for sure I'd be spending today in the hospital having a new little baby... not so far, no such luck. So many people have told me "it will be the 21st!" so I thought that it just had to be! So many have said it! PLUS its turned cold today. Freezing cold. From 80 degrees yesterday to 40 something today plus the blistery wind. Of course I'd go into labor on a cold day and have to 'weather' the storm! Yep... nope, not me! I'm hanging tough! I also thought it would be today because I didn't want to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital. Sure fire way of getting tossed in the bed to have a baby. Nope. Still nothing.
So, I guess I'll get to eat 20 little Thanksgiving snacks on Thanksgiving instead of a big dinner. I dont have room for all that food!
I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and keep warm!!!

Another Baby Day
Our sunday school class held a little baby shower for us this weekend. Check out that cake! It was so cute that I didnt want to cut it! It was too perfect and looked... well, not real! It was beautiful! Angela finally talked me into letting them disassemble it and dig in.

Lil November got her first Christmas stocking and a stocking hat to match.

She also got a fun (noisy) Noah's Ark toy to play with... complete with lights, sound and action. It follows her Noah's Ark nursery theme.

After the shower, my mom, sis and I treated ourselves to pedicure's at the spa. My little lady, who was the sweetest little Asian girl, asked me if I wanted something on my toe. I'd told mom's girl to put a flower on hers (giggle) but then they asked me something about mine. I had no idea what she was saying, so I just smiled and nodded. Scared to death of what I might get... she put rhinestones on me! I got bling!!!

November Showers
Ok... more baby stuff I have to share.
Today my sister and friend, Fachaitte had a baby shower for our little jewel and we had such a good time! We got a ton of neat things plus loads of cute cute little clothes! We got a bicycle trailer and a gymnasium for her to play in/on/with, plus diapers and wipes and booger suckers, and blankets and toys and pacifiers. We got quite a bit to help take care of our new little joy.
The centerpiece for the snack table was a diaper cake (non-edible). How cute is this!?!??

You can never have too many diapers and wipes! THANK YOU!!!

Such fun times...

Circe sent a pink camo outfit!!! *kisses* Circe! Thank you!! That was so sweet!!!

My friend Tanya and her sister along with Lisa. I worked with them (minus Tanya's sister who is here visiting from Russia) at Chaos College.

Kitchen table chit-chat

Everyone had a onsie to decorate for the baby to have to remember her shower.

I gave each of the hostesses pink fluffy slippers, glitter lipgloss and jewelry. Check out the diva shoes!

The hostesses with me.

That Time of Year Again
This weekend is a big event at our house! Richard's birthday!
Happy pre-Birthday, babydoll! I can't wait to see you Saturday! You see, Richard has been working all kinds of OT at work and has stayed buried in code all week. I'm hoping to drag him out for a bit on Saturday ;)
We went to our baby-birthin' class last night and we discovered that the breathing techniques are probably not going to work for us because a) Richard says he feels stupid and b) we get to laughing. The different labor positions probably aren't going to work much because a) I feel like a dork and b) we get to laughing. We may not be laughing much when those real contractions hit and if he even cracks a little laugh i'll hit him so hard that i'll knock that little giggle right out of him! Just bring on the epidural!

Baby News
It is so irritating when you get started writing, get interrupted, and so you save your post then go back to finish it and it's NOT saved! Dangit! It was a good one too!
I've tried hard not to make my entries mostly like a babyblog, but this one time i've gotta talk about the little baby :)
We had an ultrasound yesterday and all indications are that this little guy is a girl! Richard is soooo excited! We left the doctors office with our video and pictures of the little tyke and headed home. I changed... headed to the gym... leaving Richard at home just grinning from ear to ear and working on editing the video.
Later, I get a text message from him.
R: I'm so in love!
Me: ok... with who?
R: Our little girl!
Me: You're screwed.
R: She's going to break my little heart
Me: Yep. You're screwed. She already has you wrapped around her finger and she isn't even here yet!
R: Yep.
Me: You're screwed.
I can see it all now... I'll be the mean one. haha
I hope to get a few sonogram pics posted. She is so sweet... sucking her thumb and stretching those legs. She has Richards toes. He is the only man... person... i've ever seen who can stretch all of their toes apart like fingers! She did it!!!! hahahahahahahha

Buy Me Some Sun
I'm going to Cozumel, kids!!!! *cheerleader jump*
Richard called me at work and asked me about a trip and we got to looking and decided to jump in and take off before school starts. I'm ready to see some sun and sand! No more of this monsoon weather! Yipppeee! Today marks the 15th consecutive day of rain.
Oh yes.... and it seems we'll be buying pink for this little baby ;)

Where Have I Been?
I didn't realize it's been several days since i've posted! wow how time flies!!
It's raining flipping cats and dogs. We're supposed to get some 4.85 inches by 5pm tomorrow... so in just about 36 hours it will be flood levels again. Wait... the flood from before really hadnt lowered because it had nowhere to run off to because of the rains before that! I'm building an ark!
Sunday we spent a good part of the day at the lake with a coworker of Richard's and his wife. We took the boys out tubing and with the first run, the material on the tube - ripped! It was the first time Jack had used the tubed too... so it was a real bummer. We did about three rounds and decided to head to the local wal-mart for a new tube or something else to play with. Richard, Jack and C headed to shop... and the rest of us stayed in the boat soaking up some rays. Within no time they were back and we went for round 2 of jetting around the lake. We got about three miles from our launch site.... killed the engine to let people in and out of the boat... the sucker wouldnt start again!
The guys pulled this, tugged that, took this and that apart, etc.. but it was a no go. We contacted lake patrol... which was actually the local police department (they patrol the lake too) and got towed in. It was an action packed day for sure! The lake was up about 6 feet too. Picnic tables were covered, docks were under water... its crazy! And now its pouring again. Lovely.
My friend Deb, that went to Vegas with us, text mess'd me last night and she's going to be a grandma!!! Congrats to you Debbie! This will be her first grandbaby - of many more to come I think :) I'm so happy for her!

Life on Tour
Yesterday after work Richard and I visited the 4th daycare center in our World Wind Tour of Baby Centers 2007.
I ‘heard’ that we should start looking early here because most daycares have waiting lists for newborns. So last week we started the daunting task of touring, questioning, drilling, interviewing, smelling and signing up at daycares. The center last night (#3 which we really liked) said they’ve had parents wait up to a year before to get a newborn in! Oh my….
Center #1 We liked. Kind of. To me it seemed a bit dirty but it might have been because it was a little older and their equipment seemed dated a bit. However, they did give us a grand tour and were very open with information and their policies and procedures. I did like how they have a daily checklist of what occurs with baby and each day they send it home so you are aware of what they ate, how much they slept and how many potties and poopies they did. We got on the list.
Center #2 GAG A MAGGOT. First of all, I hated the parking lot. If we go there, i’ll suffer from parking lot rage and be in counseling for the next 12 years trying to recover. Secondly, little Director Lady walked us in the infant room and said ‘here’s our infant room’. That’s it. No big grand tour, no explanation of daily activities or curriculum. Nothing. She offered nothing… we had to quiz her for information. Plus the place was small.. it seemed congested. Clean, but really congested. Plus they charged quite a bit more than center #1 and offered less. PLUS i didn’t like their parking lot. PLUS you had to pay $60 to even sit on their waiting list. I dont think so. They aren’t that special. I still don’t like their parking lot.
Center #3 we loved! Its actually the same daycare company as Center #1, but at a different location. It was very clean and spacious and Daycare Director Lady was very helpful and informative. They charge a truckload more for a newborn (up to 12 months), but they seemed very organized and clean and all the employees seemed clean and nice and clean. The setup was the same as Center #1 except the Infant to Teacher ratio was better. 4:1 here as compared to 6:1 at Center #1. Clean is important.
Center #4 we saw last night. It's a bit of a drive from our house - compared to the other centers, but we thought we'd check it out because if it's 'the one' then we'll drive the distance. Before we even entered the building... something was stenchy. It was either poop or vomit, or a combination of the two. I couldn't quite put my finger on it.... and Richard seemed to think it also had a bleachy smell. So they were cleaning up something. BLAH. The center seemed nice and the girl giving us the tour was really informative and helpful. However, (how do i put this nicely) the employees seemed... a little rough around the edges. Nice enough? It just wasn't my top pick. However, they had been picked by our school district to have a Pre-K program and so we knew from that, it had passed all kinds of inspections and hadn't been in any kind of trouble. I think the jury is still out on this one. It would work if we need it to, but we still prefer #3.
My very favorite childcare person is in Chickasha… I can’t drive that far… so maybe I could get her to move here!??! Can ya, Jackie!? Please!?!? Can ya, can ya.. huh!??! huh!??!!? *beggin*

Midsummer Nights Dream
I had a dream last night that I had this baby.... at home! Those are not my intentions... nor are they Richards. However for some reason I was in labor and didn't know it. I was standing up and Richard was taking pictures of my big ol baby gut when all of a sudden the baby just came shooting out! Hubby caught it like he was catching a 50 yard pass!
It was a boy!
Not one little pain either.

If you dream that you are on your way to the hospital to have a baby, then it signifies your issues of dependency and your desire to be completely care for. Perhaps you are trying to get out of some responsibility. If you are pregnant, then a more direct interpretation may simply mean that you are experiencing some anxieties of making it to the hospital when the time comes.
To dream that you are laboring, suggests that you have goal that will take a lot of hard work to accomplish.
If you are really pregnant and having this dream, then it represents your anxieties about the pregnancy. Women in the first trimester of their pregnancy tend to dream of tiny creatures, fuzzy animals, flowers, fruit and water. In the second trimester, dreams will reflect your anxieties about being a good mother

More Baby News
Last week while I was in Las Vegas, one of the techs had called in sick most of the week and Monday morning he called me and said he was staying home yet one more day. He sounded congested and apparently had been battling strep. I turned in his time for him, and HR contacted me to inquire as to his status and to make sure we didn't need to start working on other arrangements (short term disability vs. personal time off). Tuesday morning I got an email from him that said he wouldnt be in yet again.. he'd been to the emergency room the night before and was going to the hospital to meet a radiologist.
Our thoughts ran wild.... we had him diagnosed with all sorts of crazy things. Primarily blisters *giggle*. We're mean (fun) like that.
Today... he made it! So, I asked him how his sickness is going, how he feels, how the hospital thing turned out.
He said Monday he felt fine, but decided to go ahead and stay home and had full intentions of coming to work on Tuesday. However, his girlfriend woke him up about midnight... deathly ill and requesting to go to the ER. He sat in the ER with her til about 2:30am waiting while they took her pee and blood and poked and prodded. Then, after all that, the doctor came in and said Congratulations! Our tech asked 'what for!?' You're pregnant!
Yep.... The Ladies Man is going to have a baby. The last thing any of us ever expected... the last thing he ever expected too!
I laughed when he told me. He laughed... all the techs laughed. He'd threatened before to get someone pregnant so he could take off work for this and that with his kid like the rest of us do.... but we didnt think he really meant it! hahahaha
