Baby Z's going to Canada and Alaska!
Not alone... my whole entire family is going on a big ultra long family vacation! We're going to start our 9 day trip in Seattle. My mom has a sister there and my sis and I have never gone to visit. So, we're going to stop there first and visit the fam before we head north.
What fun this will be! Baby Z gets a passport too!!!
I hope to get cool (no pun intended... hehe) pics like Chica did!

Hi - followed a link to you from Traveling Chica's place... happy trip!
TC: I KNOW!!! I'm practically squealing too! We fly into Seattle and cruise out from there. We'll see Victoria, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and some glaciers. I hope I spelled all of those right. Do you have any suggestions on "must sees" at any of those places!?
NuNu: I'll bring back lots of pics to share!!!
Shelby: Thanks for visiting. I hope to see you again ;)
Oh have fun!
Yo! I'm back baby.
I have been to 27 countries and 46 states. My Alaska trip was in my top 3. You are going to loooooooove it.
Angela: Thanks! I plan on having loads of fun and bringing back tons of pics to share!
NYC: Check your comments...
I'm glad to hear i'm gonna loooove it! I'm excited! I wanna go dog sledding!!! hehehe
OK, so you totally rocked the spelling on all of those :)
The bad (good for you) news is that all of those places were on the list of "going to see on the trip home" this last summer... the ferry ride that got cancelled. Except Juneau, which I got to this summer. The rest I was supposed to have seen, and it didn't happen.
Juneau is really pretty, but honestly, it's the biggest tourist trap every. All the gift shops are unbelievable, and having worked/lived in 4 national parks, that's telling you a lot. We took a boat tour out Tracy Arm while we were there, and that was cool, but with all the glaciers you'll be seeing along that inside passage route, I don't know that I'd recommend it. It's a LONG day to do it, for sure.
We did spend some time at Mendenhall Glacier, which is a quick trip from Juneau by bus: 10 minutes max? I mean, it's on the island, so it's just out from the city center there. Pretty scenery, bears... I enjoyed that a great deal.
My biggest advice: take extra memory cards or make sure you're prepared to burn CDs :) Oh yeah, and if you go in August, make sure you are prepared for rain, rain and more rain. I wore a winter coat almost every day in Juneau.
I can't wait to hear all about your trip! :) (Even though it's months off.)
