Whether Weather

Ok, this severe weather nonsense is getting old fast. It’s only April 9th and I think we’ve had five or six tornado watches in the last few weeks and we haven’t even hit the big twister month (May) yet. This is not boding well. It’s especially entertaining when the fronts move through during the early morning hours and all that crashing and booming wakes you up from a dead sleep debating whether to head for the storm shelter (aka wine cellar) or not. Last month, I finally broke down and purchased a weather radio so I’ll know how things stand should the power go off. Several more rounds are expected today and tomorrow with the likeliest chance of terrible twisters predicted to hit during the *shocked look* early morning hours. Oh joy! Kerbear is under a severe thunderstorm watch as I type and I’m certain I’ll come under it later today. I sure hope this extensive renovation on Chaos College isn’t all for naught.

My Surprise Birthday!

OHHHH!!!! Guess what I got for my birthday!!?!??!?! A road bike! I'm so excited!

Richard and my sis and my parents got me a bike (and intend on me using it)... PLUS I'm registered for RAGBRAI. It's a 500 mile, 7 day bike ride across the state of Iowa.

I'm officially in the "in" bike rider group here and start training this next week I hope! This means long, treacherous rides several times a week. Plus, wearing pants with butt pads. HAHAHAH

My Name Is...

I really love our daycare lady that keeps Z. She's got flare and sparkling personality and her husband is a jewel too. The kids she keeps are all such good kids... hilarious and very well mannered. Last week I walked in the front door of daycare and I heard "Header, can we have a snack!?"

Header: NO! The kitchen is closed.

Two little boys running around at her feet... each about 3 years old.

Boys: No it's not Header! Can we have a snack?!

Header: NO boys! The kitchen is closed. Go in the other room i'm cleaning up.

Boys: Its not closed Header, cuz we're in it.

Me: LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY Did they call you Header!?

Header: Yep. I get called Header, Ma, Hannah, or Hey and I answer to all of it.

Her name is Heather! LMAO

Make Me Feel Better

Richard and I went to our sunday school social tonight. We've only been to two in two years and for some reason I felt like we needed to go to this one.

I'm glad we did! I've been toying with issues at my new job and not sure what to do or which way to go and tonight I had three people come and ask me about work and "how is it going" and all three of them told me things that confirmed how I was feeling and what direction I needed to take all this.

Funny how things work out like that. I needed to be there to hear what my fellow classmates had to say.

Surely You Jest

Let’s see. March ended and April began much like an angry, ferocious lion by throwing tornados at us. This was followed by April Fool’s Day but my merry band of IT warriors were too busy getting ready for the academic contest we hosted on Wednesday to do much about it. And even though I’ve been minus parts of my group on various days, things have managed to stay hectic this entire workweek. Throw in Chaos College electing a new prez (though this won't take effect until July) to replace our departing Grand Poobah, and you can understand why busy is an understatement around here. Ch-ch-ch-changes, eh? Things are picking up speed as many events preface the grand finale better known as Commencement. And this culmination of educated toil and sweat arrives about a week early this semester.

I’m totally hooked on http://www.cracked.com/ and if you hear loud peals of laughter emanating from my end of the building, this is the reason why. Happy weekend! :)

Errbody in Da House Gettin Tipsy

It's rainy and cold today! Isn't it April and supposed to be spring!?!??

I just left the dermatologists office. I've had this funky itchy rash on my hands the past month or so and he's been treating it so today was my checkup.

He told me that I had to destress. He said stress is hurting me and if my hands are showing signs, that means my entire body is having problems. He then asked what could be causing me stress. Well... I have a new baby and a new job. I can't destress that stuff. lol He said "do you have an Au Pair" *insert hysterical laughter here*

No. I do it myself.

He said "you need to talk to hubby and tell him it's time to get an Au Pair"

Again hysterical laughter to myself.

Then he followed with I probably need to make a job change.

This job change IS my job change! So change from my change!?!? That might be possible. Heck it might be necessary. After today, I was considering it anyways.

Then he asked if he could help by giving me Prozac. As lovely as the thought is... I declined. I need to learn to relax and help myself... myself! I dont want to depend on a pill. Even though its a tiny dose, I dont want to become dependant. I'll just drink myself silly instead. I think I'll enjoy that treatment more.

Margarita's anyone!?!?

Twister

A tornado hit our area last night. Not too far from my house. So close I could almost spit on it and not one time did the sirens go off. We stayed up pretty late last night watching the weather and seeing what was expected. The storms were pretty brutal but it was going to swing around us and we'd probably only get some wind and rain.. maybe a little hail but nothing super major.

We headed off to bed and about an 1 1/2 hours later, Richard got up and flipped on the weather again. Nothing. The weather guy had nothing catastrophic to talk about and seemed the worst was over.

This morning we got up and as part of our normal routine we turn on the news and see what we're faced with for the day and I'll be darn if a tornado didn't wipe out a house and tear up a few other houses less than a mile from us! Seriously!! Its just right over there! *pointing* In fact, two major roads within a mile from our house were shut down today due to storm damage and OG&E was working on it all day.

I asked Richard if the sirens had gone off. He didn't hear them. I didn't hear them. All day long I'd bump into people and they'd ask "did you hear sirens?" Nope. Not one. Neither did anyone else. We grew pissed at our city for not warning us! We figured they spent all their siren fund in testing and couldn't actually blow them in the event of a real situation because we've spent our wad testing every saturday at noon!

Tonight on the news the little weather guy explained. The storm was right over and us and out of nowhere (obviously) a tornado drops on those houses. No warning... nothing. The families all hid in bathrooms and closets. No one was hurt, thankfully.

It occured at the exact time Richard hopped out of bed to watch the weather. Weird!!!

Lost Lingerie

Did someone misplace their trusty binder? I discovered this on the counter by the sink in the gym, crumpled and despondent, whimpering in the corner. Its owner apparently had dressed in such a rush that this helpless undergarment was overlooked in the frantic scramble. Here’s hoping it was later reclaimed and is once again back in commission.

The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $600 rebate. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan. If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. The only way to keep that money here at home is to buy prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in the US. Thank you for your help.

Cat a Tonic

Earlier this week my favorite furball experienced a ‘digestive tract upset’ (aka puked) involving worms. TBC apprised me of his predicament and asked me to pick up a supply of worm meds from the vet for all our four-legged children. This I did Monday after work. Administering the pills was quite entertaining as our multiple cat household received their dosage via Dr TBC. Though my role was not as crucial, I did play the part of the encouraging yet distant onlooker nurse. I did miss Stubbly’s turn on the table but was present for the others. My preshus BW was next up and the timid little guy was left quite traumatized but managed to hide his humiliation by wolfing down the wet cat food TBC offered as a consolation prize for playing. I cringed when Spikey’s turn came as she is anything but a model patient and is widely known as the Witch Queen. Anyway, TBC grabbed her by the head, popped open her jaw and slung the little pill into her unwilling mouth. Apparently that sucker traveled a little further than expected and got stuck in her airway causing her to make weird noises and froth profusely. After a minute of consternation and debate, TBC hunted her down hiding under the sofa and heimliched her to where the stubborn tablet finished its original journey down her esophagus. Whew! She too was severely distressed and hid under the corner of the bar, refusing to even consider the tempting plate of kitty treats. Our final feline patient was our feisty female newbie, Cami, who was quite the little trooper and faced her fate with stoic resolve. Later that evening, I headed down the hallway only to discover hacked up clumps of undigested dinner in not one but three huge piles scattered across the carpet. Gross! Grumbling loudly, I cleaned up the wretched mess and questioned the efficacy of giving the puker anything remotely resembling edibles a nanosecond after he’s been dosed, but then, who am I to question the knowledgeable, educated doctor? And speaking of BW, does that sweet snoozing lump of love resemble a ruthless brawler who beat up the neighbor cat so badly they required an IV? I must have a serious talk with that boy…

Birthday Party

I wish I had total freedom to write and write and write sometimes (here). But I don't. You never know who might stumble onto this blog plus I have a few friends that read it periodically... although probably more like once every six months... but this would be the one time in that six months they'd decide to read and it's a post about them. Not cool. So, I will keep my mouth shut (for now) ;)

The less detailed version is...

Last night we had a surprise birthday party for my sister! For some reason she didn't act too happy. hmmmm
Her BF asked Jill and I to arrange it... and we did. We also threw in a little surprise for him. His BD is two days before hers, so I called a few of his friends and invited them and had a cake for both of them.

Her friend Dawna came to pay a visit...

Birthday girl jabbering with someone...

Jill loving on my hubby and precious baby!

The cake (hers)...

I feel something is/was amiss... darn, I wish I could write more!

Sneezin Season

So I’m back online after a brief sabbatical. Ya gotta love how consistently inconsistent I’ve become with blogging. Must be something about getting close to that third year mark, eh? Don't forget to mark your calendars for July 6th as Kerbear and I would love to receive lots of fabulous presents. (We promise to act surprised.)
: -)

The last few weeks I’ve been sneezing. A lot. I don’t recall ever having this miserable of a time with allergies. As I’ve never been officially tested, I’m going to take an educated guess and say it’s the budding trees causing my sniffling woes. I understand cedars might be the most likely culprit and I’d also venture a guess that having the problematic devils line both sides of our driveway is not a plus. Of course, the Okie wind doesn’t help matters because if we are blessed with a warm, springlike day, it’s a given it will go hand in hand with Mr. Gusty Breezes. All I know is I’m helping put the tissue companies, usually the Puffs people, decisively in the black for their profit margins. Ah, Spring in Oklahoma—tissues and tornadoes!

Don't Eat the Chocolate Jelly Beans

Happy Easter!!!

It's been nice all week and today it's supposed to be pretty nippy. Just like spring break, the weather gods know when it's going to be Easter and they make it cold. Every year. Yet every year, the fashion designers make little thin, strappy, Easter dresses to be worn with cute little white sandals, when in reality we need to be wearing sweaters and boots!

Enjoy your day!

Would You Like Some Fries With That?

This morning I stopped by Sonic to quickly grab a little breakfast and out with my French Toast Sticks came two containers of syrup (yes, you read that right). They never give two... and some ketchup.

Why ketchup?

I might could understand ranch because ranch goes with everything (ask my kids)... but ketchup!?

The Irish are Coming!

Happy St Patty's Day to ya!

It's kind of a dark, wet, dreary day here in the heart of the USA. What a crappy way to start spring break.

I've never understood why they have "spring" break in March when it's almost always (99.99%) likely to be cold and nasty. I can't really recall a nice spring break. Ever. I do remember having an ice storm though! I remember snow on spring break too. I don't remember 'springy' weather. Ever.

Why don't they move spring break to be a week or two later? I know that it wouldn't really be in the middle of the academic semester, but it would probably be nicer weather.

Oh. and Heather Mills pisses me off. Just looking at her makes me irrate. If Paul would give me 50 million, I'd be a happy little camper.

A Day at the Spa

I wondered why Heather's face was all dolled up when I got to her house to pick baby Z up. She usually wears really light makeup and she even had this deep brick red lipstick on. She looked like she was fixing to go on stage or something.

"We played Beauty Shop today, and Z got her toes painted".

They are cute little pink nails too! How someone could sit and so steadily paint such a tiny moving target is beyond me!

Baby Got Back

Baby Z rolled over last night!

C put her down on her jungle gym mat to play and walked off towards the kitchen. He turned back to check on her and she flipped right on over!

She jabbers and giggles and flirts with us and is now rolling over (back to front). She's growing up so quickly! I've already packed away a big set of clothes that she's outgrown. I took one last peek at them before I neatly folded them and shoved them in the bag and thought "gosh, I remember when she was that tiny and wore this". It was just a few weeks/months ago! lol

Acting Like Schoolgirls

I can't remember if I've mentioned this before or not. You know sometimes you think about things so much that you honestly think you've talked about it (or blogged it) and all along it's been only in your mind.

I don't like the Today Show so much since Katie left and Meredith is on. It's not that I don't like Meredith.... it's that I don't particularly care for her on the Today Show. I'm not real hip on the dynamics. It seems like to me that Matt is always trying to stay on track and 'run' from the female co-hosts but they are always giggling and flirting and getting off track. I've even seen them grab him and giggle... hanging onto him... and he'd break away and try to seriously get the show going while they'd still be giggling and cracking up.

It was joking and loose when Katie was co-anchoring with Matt, but she didn't lead you to believe she wanted in his pants and at whatever cost. Plus, she didn't stand like a man. That drives me nuts to.

Cars

I picked me out a new car. Several actually. Last night we had VIP passes to the Auto Show. I love the new Tahoe's, the new Mustang's (especially the Shelby), the new SAAB, the new Explorer, the new Infiniti, the Ferrari, etc etc etc....

but the love of my life was there! All spit-shined and calling my name. A black '79 Trans Am. The Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am. I want that car! It sat on the floor just waiting on me. When I saw it, it was like the doors of heaven opened and lights shined down and you could hear the trumpets playing. God wants me to have that car!

Do you know how much it would cost to find a car like that in mint condition!? Do you realize how much it would cost to find one and have it restored to that condition!? Do you realize how many more jobs I'd have to get right now to do that!? lol

I do like that new SAAB though.

They had all the munchies you can eat and all the wine and beer you could drink. Drinks make the cars look better and the price tags irrelevant.

I like that SAAB. There might be a picture of me in it... somewhere. Seems like someone took a pic.

Dentists and Depos

While those two words should rarely be uttered in the same sentence, it’s been a case of dealing with both this week. On the bright side, the crown I thought was coming loose turned out to be my troublesome sinuses causing the aches. On the sinister side, my insurance lawyer called to inform me I needed to answer and fax those pesky interrogatory questions back to him pronto so that he could scoot them over to the plaintiff’s counsel before the depositions are held next Monday. I am so not looking forward to this nonsense. I realize I am being circumspect but until this BS is over and done with, I’m not at liberty to speak freely. Here’s hoping the greedy freeloader settles and doesn’t drag this through the court system and waste everyone's precious time.

Happy Humps!

Hump Day

It's Wednesday and I've yet to find the time to write a post (until now) or check anyone's sites. *begging forgiveness*

Why is it when you become pretty much unemployed, that you find yourself even busier and wonder how you even had time to work a full time job to begin with!? The piles of laundry have gotten bigger, dinner is more 'fast' than it was before, I cram my workouts into even smaller time slots, emails don't get returned for days (if that) and I havent talked to friends in ages it seems like. What is going on!? I'd love to have time to stop and smell the roses!

My taxes are done though and I've got VIP passes to the Auto Show tonight. The laundry will have to wait another day. Wait.... I can't do it tomorrow either because I've got class tomorrow night and I'm putting together a FOOD basket for a silent auction on Friday. Maybe I can get to it this weekend. Wait, only after I go shopping and check emails and change diapers and pick up my taxes.... gosh, unemployment is busy!

Up One Rank

Last night marked the end of the new adventure for me. Bootcamp is over. Our last night was a PT test to measure against our first PT test ... to see how we improved. I DID GOOD!!!! I ran an 8 minute mile the first PT test and I ran a 6 minute mile last night! PLUS it was in a hilly park so I did really good! My lungs hurt like a biatch when I was done because it had turned a little chilly (the chilly kind of chilly where you can breath and it looks like you're smoking). Today I'm coughing like no other because of last night I think... but still I made it!

The new victims, err... recruits, had their beginning PT test last night and from the looks of things, I think those instructors have their work cut out for them. One girl, the heaviest of all of them, did the best. She kicked hiney in the run but she certainly did her fair share of bitching about it. haha I told her it only gets easier and to hang in there - even though you think you're going to croak.

Afterwards, a few of us went out to celebrate our bootcamp graduation. We hit the sauce... the very thing we'd been banned from for a month. So I one single night we probably ruined four weeks of training. hehe

Sick as a Dog

With the exception of that lovely warm week in paradise, I’ve been fighting like crazy to keep the cursed crud at bay. It’s been all around me permeating every molecule of air I breathe for weeks and though I put up a valiant fight, I finally succumbed this past Tuesday. I woke up feeling like total hell and for the next 48 hours, days and nights merged into one hazy blur as my congested head remained motionless on the pillow. And yes, I’m pretty sure by the end of yesterday I smelled like a billy goat. The price one must pay for winter tropical getaways.

And just forget any sort of restful recuperation at my house. The “K and P Show” decided to take it on the road, or in this case, down the road straight to our house, as P came by and cornered hub by the garage as she spent over 1 ½ hours (I timed her) crying the blues. In the meantime, K repeatedly dialed our number and left numerous messages on the answering machine while simultaneously annoying the living piss out of me. (What part of either "no one is in the house or healthy enough to deal with your crap" are you missing???) He and his doofus lawyer eventually showed up in person to get a car battery and make things even more awkward than they already were. TBC about went ballistic and they got the heck out of Dodge pronto. Sick or not, I think I’d rather be at work. And, yes, we pulled the plug on the machine.

Sunday night, my sis and bro-in-law came over and I was telling her about the booing incident at the resort. She immediately inquired if I had stomped off in a huff at this inexcusable insolence. Does she know me or what?? :)

Language of Love

To spice things up at the office today, I set my email language preference to Spanish.

After a while, it's not so fun anymore. It's way too much work.

Maybe I'll try Portugese next.

Jaws of Steel

I'm not a real big fan of the dentist. I've been pretty fortunate as I've only suffered with braces and a few fillings... nothing major.

Until about a month ago when my dentist told me that one of my fillings needed to be repaired because it was actually peeling up. I could feel it... have been feeling it for years. I knew something was going on, but his idea of repair was a crown! What the heck is a crown!? I had an idea... but tried to not entertain the thought. For fear it would get worse, I made an appointment to get it fixed. The crown and two fillings removed and replaced with porcelean.

Yesterday was said appointment. The day from hell!

The first series of shots did nothing. Not numb at all. So, he came in with a second series of shots. A little tingley... on my cheek... but my lip was fine and I could still feel my teeth. A third series of shots (and a series is about 4) and he said 'this should do it', did not much more. My lip still isnt tingley. He started to do a 'test' drill. HOLY @#^%!#^$#*!&%#^@$#^%@ I could feel it!!!

So, the fourth series... I got a shot so I could even get a shot! He gave me a shot in my jaw to deaden it so he could give me the mother of all shots. He stabbed me in my jaw here and there and here and there and said "now you've had enough to kill a horse! That should do it!" My lip got fat and my tongue huge.

I think we're ready to go!

Not really. During all three teeth drillings I could feel spots where he'd hit a nerve and dayum it bout sent me through the roof! After he was done and I'd endured the smell of grinding teeth, he said "we need to talk".

One tooth that he'd filled, he decided really needed a crown too because it was going to cause me problems years down the road and considering it takes so much to deaden my mouth, we should do it now! *tears well up in my eyes* and I told him that I hated him. He said "yeah, I get told that a couple times a week".

I went in for two fillings and a crown. I walked out with two crowns and a filling and a very sore jaw!!!

Jamaican Me Crazy

Just thought I would share a few random closing thoughts on Jamaica. (Aka “The DR But in English with Left-Sided Driving.”)

  • I learned that nocturnal lizards come out at night and indulge in reptilian revelry all their own. Our balcony morphed into Lizard City when the sun went down.
  • This time around I made sure to pack duplicate makeup so that if I lost any, I was covered. Literally. (Remember my emotional meltdown in the DR when I misplaced my coverstick and the hapless Dominicans were forced to view my undereye circles?) Oh the horror.
  • TBC took ogling duty to new heights as he kept eagle eye tabs on the topless, suntanning European women flaunting their upper assets while lazing on the lounge chairs. He was constantly on patrol, walking from one end of the property to the other as he scrutinized the female persuasion for exposed nippage. I now refer to our vacation as BoobWatch ‘08.
  • Americans were a small minority (Minn., Wyoming, Illinois, NY, Iowa, and of course Okieland) here at the RDCC. The breakdown seemed to be Brits, Germans, Canuckians, followed by Americans. One evening as the nightly show started, the imbibing mix was asked where they were from and when the USA voiced representation, a few in the audience booed. I was too far in the back to see who. While I was not overly surprised, I felt it extremely rude and uncalled for. And I was pretty pissed. And that said...
  • Iowan males are obnoxious, complaining loudmouths. Not all American males, and certainly not all Iowans but this fact unfortunately held true in the case of those guilty few staying at our resort. (Though I'm certain this had no relationship to the boo factor.) Nevertheless. Tsk!
  • Once again, grinding poverty contrasted wildly between the ‘haves’ enjoying resort amenities while sequestered inside the sheltering resort and the ‘have-nots’ outside the security-guarded walls. Such glaring disparity. Very sad.

And finally, after enduring tornadoes, fog, snow, torrential downpours, and pestilence on our homebound trek, I wearily stumbled into my bathroom at 2:30 am Sunday to find the wastebasket overturned, the rug a rumpled mess, and a hardened, kitten-sized dump awaiting discovery in the bathtub. I suppose it was Cami’s way of saying: “Welcome home, Mommy!”

End to the Madness

It brings me great joy, and at the same time a tear to my eye, to announce that next week is my final week of bootcamp. Unless I sign up again.

I've almost successfully completed my month of buttkickin' bootcamp and although Orientation sucked ARSE big time and I wanted to vomit and quit... I've really enjoyed going to class and making new friends. I also have more energy and have pushed myself to levels that haven't been challenged since the days of Coach Pain at Chaos College.

Drill Sgt Dave announced last night as Bring a Friend night. I took two. Well, one was my sister. Does that count as a friend!? I had an extra to spare just in case someone was missing their friend. He had some other chick - who I'd never met a day in my life - teach the class. I should mention that I really don't care to ever see her again either. She was a Biatch and bossy and in your face and loud and rough. I was sick of listening to her scream. Drill Sgt Dave is loud and bossy and in your face and blowing that damn whistle.... but he's motivating and fun and smiles while he does it. I missed him! She wasnt a very good person to put out front while we had visitors. My visitors wanted to barf. Most of the visitors looked pale actually... and the guy that was opposite me on most of the circuit training would stop dead in his tracks and be just white as a ghost and seconds away from passing out smooth on the sweat dribbled floor.

Afterwards, my friends said they liked it and would like to try it. HOWEVER only if it started slower and gradually advances. It does... and they got brought in on week 3 and that's where we're kicking out 300 jumping jacks in a minute. It's terribly fast. I asked the dude (opposite me) if he was going to join next month.... "OH HEALLLL NO!" lol

Next week will be sad. I hate to see it end, but i'm ready to take a break.

Just Like Living in Paradise

This must be just
Like living in paradise
Just like paradise
And I don`t want to go home.

Rather than spouting endless superlatives along the lines of “gorgeous,” “breathtaking,” and “magnificent,” I think I will mostly let the pictures speak for themselves. (But Jamaica was indeed beautiful!)

Re: Earthgirls

Love amongst the stars is every 'valley' girls dream and for Valerie (Geena Davis) it's a dream come true when love literally crash lands into her life in the form of intergalactic hardware plunging into her pool. For the three amorous aliens at the helm (Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans), the sight of an 'earth girl' in the shapely form of Valerie had proved too arousing, letting controls get out of hand.

One evening after a day of relaxing sun and fun, we happened to catch this enjoyable romp from 1988 on the screen. My viewing delight, however, was tinged with sadness knowing that Charles Rocket had committed suicide in 2005. Is it me or is/was Jeff Goldblum a serious hottie contender? Those eyes, those lips, that smoking bod. Rwwrrrr!

Jamaica pics paired with a brief synopsis should be on tap by Friday but today I will leave you with this profound quote:

Waste your brain; wax your board; pray for waves.

I's Returneth

Hello my darlings! Hugs and kisses to all. *smoochy smooch* Did ya miss me? (Please lie through your blogger teeth and give me a big ole "hell ya!") I'm playing catch up on the comp today and getting through a billion emails. Woot! You wouldn't think being gone for just a week would be that bad, but it is. Jamaica was wonderful and it was hard to leave, but I guess one cannot stay in paradise indefinitely. (with the exception of Trouble.) Such is life.

I had a fantastic time in Jamaica and came back with a lovely tan. I made sure to slather on the sunscreen so this lily white skin would not suffer unduly. Yes, I do look kinda red in this pic but the camera is deceiving though god knows my hair looks like crap here. It may take awhile for all the fruity rum cocktails (and wine) I downed to dissipate but it sure was fun while it lasted. I can’t seem to get the reggae tunes that blared from the loudspeaker at the jetty bar out of my head either. Anyway, I do know I’m not sorry I missed all the accreditation crapioca stress and now things shall return to the usual, normal chaos.

I could so get used to 80 to 85 degrees every day. At least there wasn't snow on the ground when we got back in Saturday night, but we had to deal with severe storms in Houston and the planes all got delayed resulting in a midnight Tulsa return and a very soggy drive home. It was 2:30 am by the time we pulled into the carport and even later when I got to bed. I was dead tired yesterday but feeling pretty good today. Pictures will be posted later this week. Ya mon!

This is the Life

Due to downsizing, i'm staying at home now! HIP HIP.... HOORAY!!! Actually I think it was more that Fat Bastard worked his weenie ways and convinced the powers that be, that he should be in charge of the techs. So... they offered me a programming position (website, online apps, etc), but I turned it down. That's not my thing. I can't stand to be stuck behind a computer all day - unless its for email and chatting! lol My personality needs to be up running around. I'm a mover and a shaker, baby!!!

I'm happy as a lark being home. I sign my severance package tomorrow!

Rain Rain go Away

Well....

Valentine's Day was pretty good. Work was shitty, but dinner was good. We got the shittiness straightened out with HR and all was good....

until Friday at 3:30pm. It went to shitty again.

Come Monday things are going to change drastically. For me... AND for those jerks.

Here are some pleasant pictures on this cold, rainy, snowy, sleety, freezing rain day!

Italian Nachos at Zio's are awesome! But you need to share.... they send alot out!

The cookie I got C, P and Z

aaaawwwww..... the sweet little couple having dinner at Zio's on V-Day!

Lovely February Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

A few things I love about my Valentine:

He has a heart of gold and is always looking out for my best interest.
He can be so romantic (something i'm not so good at)
He thinks about me all the time.
I can trust him 110%... and do.
He is an awesome dad!
When we met he said I was 'hot'.
When we married he said I was 'hot'.
While preggers... he STILL said I was 'hot'.
After baby Z... he says I'm 'hot'.
(regardless of my condition... he tells me how beautiful I am)
He never gives up on me.
He lets me be totally addicted to the gym and understands how important it is to me.
He makes beautiful babies!
He's smart as a tack.
He lets me curl up next to him to keep warm - even when i'm iceburg cold.
I can make him happy with simple things (smile, hug or... you know). hehe
When I'm cranky, he still can love me.
I love him!

I could go on and on but these are the first things that popped into my head.

They Gave the Wrong Flu Shot!

Crapoly.

Yesterday afternoon I developed a scratchy throat and last night it turned more into a sore throat. I went to bootcamp anyways because I wasnt feeling bad other than the sore throat.

This morning, in addition to that I have the all over achey feeling and a pounding headache! One of our techs is out with the flu and another had a daughter at home with strep... i'm sure he's brought the strep bug to work! I downed a handfull of vitamin C this morning in efforts to "nip it".

I will not get sick, I will not get sick, I will not get sick....

Where the heck has Circe been!?

I didnt take the flue shot. I never do. It never works. Everyone I know that takes the shot, gets sick. This year "they" gave the wrong shot... and everyone is sick with the flu *snicker*

We did It!

We successfully completed our first full week at our new babysitters house and I can say we’re all smiles about it!

Baby Z seems really happy there. Richard usually drops her off in the mornings and he says that he walks in and the sitter picks baby Z up and she’s happy as a little lark! When I pick her up in the evenings, she is so content. She’s clean and fed and clean (did I mention that?!). H is very particular about her baby toys and equipment and about her babies! She covers all the seats with towels before she lays a baby in them (swings, bouncies, etc) and she has bibs on them to try to keep their clothes clean. In the event there is a mess we’ve provided her with a couple of changes of clothes so she can keep them smelling Bounce fresh… and she does!

Our sweet bundle is known to poop sideways and up the front and out the back - sometimes in one quick squirt - and she did that this week. H gave her a bath and cleaned her all up so when we picked her up, we had a squeeky clean baby!

I’m seeing a nice Christmas bonus for H this year if she keeps that baby happy!

Saturday morning she called to check on Z and make sure that the week had gone well as far as we were concerned. She said that Z is “a wonderful baby and she is so sweet“. She said she’s perfectly fine at her house and things had gone really well and wanted to make sure she had a good week!

I thought that was nice she thought about us and checked. I think we scored well on this one!

Let the Fun Begin

Thank God it's Friday!

We had a wonderful first full week at baby Z's new daycare.

I had three awesome days at butt-kicking bootcamp (still sore from Wednesday, but it was a great workout).

And, we have a sitter for tonight and we're going out! YES!!!!

I know Drill Sgt Steve would be very upset if he knew I had dipped into the sauce, but it's important for my mental well being. A Boulevard wheat, with lemon, is calling my name. Wednesday night one of our classmates got punished because he'd gone out with his buddies the night before and had beer after beer. As a class, we decided that if he got punished... we'd all take the punishment. So, for two minutes we all "sat" in chairs up against the wall. If you've ever worked out in gym class or with a trainer... you know what i'm talking about. You 'sit' against the wall and hold yourself up with your legs. Its terribly painful and two minutes after working legs hard for 45 minutes is excruciating!

We told him that next time he better invite us along so we can at least pay for something we did! lol

Last Woman Standing

buuuuahahahahahahahahhaha!!!!

Tonight's workout was awesome! It was not easy by any means, but it was good! We had sweat dripping and slinging from here to there. Something about a bungie wrapped around your waist and someone pulling on it hard while you try to run or skip or lunge or do flipping bear crawls, makes you sweat bullets!

I think i've mentioned before (maybe not but not double checking my posts) that we get punished for being late to class or not filling out our workbooks completely or saying the word 'cant' or giving up, etc. Tonight was a night when we couldnt do anything right. We were dropping and pumping out sets of pushups constantly! About the 8th or 9th set of 25 pushups, we'd had enough of them and begged to do something different. Squats, situps, lunges... anything but pushups!

So, cutie patootie leader guy (there are always 3 or 4 of them in class) decides its a great idea to do these speed jogging things where you do baby jogging steps in place at super speed then drop and do a pushup, then jump back up and do baby jogging steps at super speed, drop... repeat... I can't remember what they are called but you see football teams doing them in warmup. Anyhoooo... he wanted us to do 25.

At about 10, most of the group, including one instructor, had stopped and were doing situps. At 12, he said "lets just do 15". At 15, it was just me, hotsie totsy leader guy and one other girl. She and I could have continued on.. we both felt pretty good. They are by no means easy and are cumbersome, but we could have done them. He said "i'm going to throw up". Another instructor blew her whistle and yelled "get back in line and lets run another race!" He said "no really, i'm going to throw up" and with that he ran to the bathroom and blllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!

He made himself sick *giggle*

Body by Kat

Bootcamp was actually fun last night! Thanks to this great Oklahoma weather, it was a nice 78 degrees yesterday and we got to head outdoors to work our little hiney's off. Note: Today its rainy and cold (about 38) and suppose to snow a bit. We ran, literally, outside to the big field by our building where Drill Sgt. Steve had set up an obstacle course. We divided into three teams and ran different drills... racing each other. We had a ball! Its hilarious to watch each other try to do the crab walk and bunny hop and side shuffles across a big patch of grass! Regardless, it was quite a workout.

The fresh air was so nice!

I do think I have an admirer in class. There is one female instructor that seems a little bit sweet on yours truly. One of my classmates pointed it out to me and then I got to thinking about previous conversations i've had with her and her being so patient with my logging screw-ups... yet not so patient with others. The little smiles and winks are a bit odd too.

Saturday, February 02, 2008

Last night, right off the bat our class got in trouble for not being loud enough and we had to 'drop and give him 25' before class could get started. He's hardass. Which is how he produces fit athletes I suppose!

I ran an 8 minute mile for my PT test last night! It was blistery cold and the wind was brutal. My lungs were burning and my lips dry (cuz I licked off all my chapstick during warmup which consisted of a million kabillion jumping jacks and various stretches plus situps and pushups). I managed to come in a few seconds faster than the girl that's in the military. Hooray for me!

Our Drill Sgt didn't instruct us, but instead he's assigned another instructor to our night class. She's in the National Guard and is hoping to go on Active Duty. Major Pain (and I mean that he inflicts pain... not that HE is a pain. I really like the guy. He's loud and hard and a great motivator!) was around and he'd pop out and join us every now and then and make sure we were performing up to his standards.

Important thing... I'm not so sore I can't get up and down off the potty without using assistance!

Imagine That

Take this test!

Looking for the perfect Bergdorf Goodman dishes to match your impeccable kitchen? Shopping at Tiffany's for a new string of pearls? Fantasizing about the perfect job as a New York City art gallery owner? Maybe not exactly, but when it comes to a refined taste and a sweetness like no other, you're just like Charlotte!

Of course you aren't all sugar; you've definitely got a tough heart under that pretty cashmere sweater, but you are probably happiest when you are surrounded by supportive relationships and a great romance (you only get two, you know!) So live it up, because you deserve nothing but the best in life, whether it's fine china or true love. Now that's some good taste!

The Green Mile

Tonight is the PT test.

I went to the gym last night to see if I could run a mile... I havent run a mile since baby Z was born. I just havent pushed myself to that yet (so bootcamp is what I needed to get the push). I did it! I checked in at the counter, hit the treadmill and ran. I pumped the mile out easy!

I know tonights mile is outside and running outside is alot different than doing it with the comfort of a treadmill, but at least I know I have it in me.

Pushups... that's a different story. I hope we only have to do like 5. 10 max.

On the Mend

I did it!!!

I climbed the stairs to my office this morning without holding onto the railing for fear that my bootcamped legs would give out. I have also successfuly gone down the stairs (twice) without grabbing the railings to try to keep from feeling sharp razor like pains darting through my thigh muscles. I'm healed!

Just in time for Friday's PT test.

I spoke with the guy at work about his bootcamp experience. This is his second month to do it. He threw up the first three days, and has gone back for more! He said the first week isnt nearly as bad as orientation... but it does get harder. We chatted about this as I was leaving for the day and he followed me out the door... laughing... and said "I know exactly how you feel! My butt hurt for days after I did that class. Almost to the point I couldnt sit!"

I've also found another girl downstairs that has enrolled in the same bootcamp... so hopefully she'll go the same times I go and I'll have some support from someone I know!

The Biggest Loser

I just found out that a guy I work with has been going to bootcamp too. He's lost 30 pounds!

dayum!!!! Gettin all buff and stuff!

One of our rules of camp is not to weigh yourself. Weight is not a good indicator of fitness. He would be in twubble!!! hehe

Not for The Weak

Boot Camp Orientation was this afternoon.

HOLY SHIZNIT!

If this was just a 'taste' of what we'll do, he's going to be hauling most of the classes off to the ER for resuscitation!

I stood in our Orientation with Drill Sgt Steve (Mike, Bob... whatever his name is!) and although he's loud and screams at us and has not one ounce of fat on his terribly muscular body, he smiles and gives you encouragement. Loud encouragement. And follows it up with you will probably feel like puking and passing out. Please dont puke on my mats or you will be cleaning it up. UGH.

Although this was an informational day, he wanted to give us a sample of what to expect. We started off by doing jumping-jacks. At his speed. At his count.

We were doing 50... piece of cake I thought. His count is "1,2,3," and on his "3" we say "1". Then he counts again "1,2,3" and on his "3" we say "2". Get the idea!? So for every 3.... we are doing just one! So we're really doing 150!!! Everything is counted off like that. By the time he was done with our sample class, we were all huffing and puffing and red-faced and I swear some were on the verge of tears! I feel for the couple people who obviously have never exercised a day in their lives. This is going to do them in.

Well Said!

I was shocked to hear the news of Heath Ledger and I have to say that it makes me terribly sad. My heart breaks for his little girl who is too young to understand what has happened, but old enough to know that she's missing her daddy.

I read this article written by Star Jones... and she said it right! Stop speculating... and leave the family alone! The media can be such jerks.

Let's get to what we don't know: his death was a tragic accident, or something to the contrary. Until we know for sure, I think the media should just shut their mouths and stop all the speculation that's been running rampant.

Truly, I am not making this stuff up!

This morning was Z's scheduled appointment with her pediatrician to get her first round of shots. Considering she's been sick, I figured she wouldnt get the shots but I wanted to have her checked out anyways because the cough and congestion were getting worse (I suspected RSV). Sure enough... she has a mild case of RSV! *insert Damn Daycare here*

I got new care instructions for her and our pediatrician decided to wait on the shots. Yeah! She'll be fine.

Loaded up and in the car... headed to the NEW daycare lady's house to put our deposit down and sign some paperwork... my sis called.

"Kerry, I just talked to Barbara and she said that Joe and Consuela called Hannah back to see if she'd run the daycare you just left. (They had fired Hannah about a year ago - from running the daycare for them) They said that someone called DHS on them and is filing charges against them because apparently an employee hit a kid and they are afraid they will be shut down".

So what Columbian lady was saying was a lie... was partially the truth! I'm glad we went with our gut feeling... that we needed to leave!

I was headed there as we spoke so that I could check Z out and gather her things. When I pulled up out front, there was a big van and inside were inspectors. Not happy ones either. I walked into the infant room and I saw more employees than i'd ever seen there before... ever! It appeared as if the infant/adult ratio was finally up to par. I told one chick that I was checking out and needed Z's things and she hurridly started gathering my stuff and scooting me out the door. I stood and kept making conversation... because I knew what the lady in dress clothes and carrying a clipboard (with a frown) was doing. I wanted her to ask me all kinds of questions... but she didn't *dang*.

Across the hall in the toddler room was a guy doing the same thing. I'll be surprised if they aren't closed down. I hope so.. for the sake of those kids. I hate it for the parents, but for the well-being of all those kiddos I hope that joint is shut down!

I like our new daycare lady.

Daycare Delimma

Here's a little more info on the daycare disaster yesterday.

When I dropped Z off, I told them not to lay her flat because with the congestion it plugs up her nose and she can’t breath, so she needed to nap in her carseat or a bouncie seat. When I picked her up, she was laying flat on her back and snot and boogies were packed in both nostrils and all over her nose. She was struggling to breath. I went ballistic! I scooped her up…. only to find her soaking wet from laying there for God only knows how long, and spitting up bottles of spit-up all over herself. I jump all over the girl working and her response was “yeah, they all have runny noses” followed by “she just ate at 2pm so she was fixing to eat again“. It was only 3:30pm! She doesn’t eat that often. Thats part of the problem. They were shoving bottles in her when she really didnt need them and she’s just throwing them back up. PLUS they arent keeping her nose clean. She couldnt breath for the love of pete!!!!! I’m still very upset. I only saw one worker chick for about 5 babies that were laying there. Still another issue I have.

As I was walking out the front door… fuming… the owner stopped me and in her very deep Columbian accent said “we have problems. Please keep us in your prayers“. I’m thinking… you ain’t a kiddin you have problems! So, I inquire as to what her problem is. “The bus driver is mad at me and quitting and says he takes his wife with him“. Thats the daycare director, which in my opinion is no loss because she was worthless. She goes on… “he spreads rumors that my doors are closing, but I want you to know that I am open and i’ve hired a replacement. She doesnt have credentials but i’m training her and in the meantime I’ve got a temp“.

Enough said. I’m out of here. No way are we staying in this disaster area! She keeps asking me to pray for her. OH I WILL ALRIGHT! And pray for us too… so that we find another place!

These two home daycares that I interviewed today look promising.

Up For a Quickie

A quick note before I take off for spin class....

I HATE, and I can't emphasis that enough.... HATE daycare!

I'm hiring a nanny.

Cat Scratch Fever

Last night TBC decided it was high time to give wittle Frankie a dose of hairball drugs. Um yeah. Much like the time he dispensed worm meds, I got stuck holding the new guy’s elusive appendages down as TBC shoved the liquid down his rebellious throat. I am now the proud owner of three fairly deep hand scratches to go along with all the previous Fedex envelope cuts. *sigh*

Today starts another week of sharing working quarters with the switchboard gals as office partners. I do adore the sweeties so I’m not really miffed, but I truly prefer my own space. The cacophony in our building is deafening even with my door closed as construction guys scurry around drilling, pounding and generally making a dusty, ungodly mess. “A” and I were even treated to plumber’s squat this morning right outside “our door” but fortunately he was not wearing his low riders nor sporting a massive belly. We dodged a bullet on that one.

Electricity was out at some point this weekend so not all phones were working when we came in and everyone’s work email was down. Yeah, it’s so a Monday. On the bright side, my secret pal left me chocolaty goodness in my mailbox. I’m so stoked! Also, “S” is coming to take me away to go eat lunch with her and dispense some much-needed stress relief. :)

Why Cant I Think of a Title?

Last week was Z's first week at daycare. She seemed to like it and did just fine. I hated dropping her off every morning and I dashed in the door each afternoon... so excited to see her and see how her day went! She never cried when I left her and was a happy little camper when I picked her up. Every day she'd hop right in her car seat and ride along with me... wide-eyed all the way home! We'd play and chit chat about our day.

Monday was the hardest day for me... well, makes sense since it was the first day. Tuesday we walked in and posted smack dab on the infant door was a note that read "Parents: Two babies have been sent home with RSV".

UGH. I hate daycare.

The two that were home sick hadn't been there with baby Z, and they were bleaching the nursery, so hopefully all is well.

Thursday yet another note that read "Parents: a third baby has been sent home with RSV".

Dammit! I hate daycare.

The room was drenched in clorox bleach. They were cleaning frantically. Regardless, I only left Z there just briefly. I had a dentist appointment that I needed to keep. I'd had the appointment for 6 months and to reschedule was such a pain.

Today, we found ourselves at the Urgent Care Clinic with a runny nose, nasty cough and congestion. Our first thought was "that damn daycare!" Hopefully it wouldnt be RSV!!! Z has an upper respiratory infection and is RSV free.

I still hate daycare. They have cooties.

Sticky Fingers

Here is a glimpse of our sweet, innocent new additions. Cami is the mostly black female with a sincere and abiding love of people food who will stop at nothing to obtain said goodies and Frankie (Ole Blue Eyes) is the striking, standoffish male with the more timid demeanor.

One incident I’ve been meaning to mention is a “little” problem the Circe domicile had last month with a certain ethnic family restaurant. Ok, yes it was a Mexican restaurant. (In Podunkville, the choice of eateries beyond fast food pretty much narrows down to Mexican or Chinese.) Now while it’s true TBC was the intended patsy/chump/sap/dupe and I was not physically present, the lack of any remorse whatsoever when confronted greatly concerned me and I decided the BBB needed to be aware of this establishment’s sticky-fingered workers. Therefore, I filed a complaint. With a few minor changes, here is a close facsimile of the transcript I submitted:

A few weeks ago, in the middle of December, TBC and a relative went to the buffet at this establishment to eat lunch. He has always left a generous cash tip, whether eating from the buffet or ordering from the menu. On this day, the buffet bill came to $15.15 and he paid with his check card. The following week he checked his bank statement via his phone and discovered a $20.00 withdrawal from this establishment. Knowing this was incorrect, he drove to our bank and reported the error only to discover an additional $4.85 added as an unauthorized tip to his bill. Yes, they stole $4.85 by applying it as a tip in addition to the cash tip he had left which would make the tip approximately 50% of the actual bill. He returned to “insert name of guilty eatery” upon learning of this outright theft and after asking to speak to the manager, was told he "had just left." He then informed the waitstaff of the problem at which point the lady spoke in Spanish to the boy who opened the cash register and gave my husband back his money. No apologies, no explanation, no nothing. TBC told his regular waitress that he always left a tip in cash and she replied, "I know you do." I carefully went through our past bank statements to see if this had occurred before and it had not. However, I am concerned that other patrons most likely were ripped off that day and the thievery has been an ongoing unreported problem. I am not sure that the manager is aware of this stealing from what I can only assume originates from his relatives running the cash register. A heartfelt apology would be appreciated…We will no longer be patronizing this local business. Thank you for looking into this matter, etc, etc.

Under “Desired Resolution”, I wrote in part: "A heartfelt apology…was the $4.85 worth losing good customer relations and personal integrity?"

These thieves have not yet responded as this is the message at the bottom of my complaint:

*** We are waiting for the business to respond. They have until January 21, 2008 to respond to this complaint.

I’m not holding my breath for their reply but at least I feel I attempted to right a wrong and warn others because there is no way he was the only goober they tried or succeeded in putting the screws to.

Oh my gosh! I'm scared!!! I got the confirmation email today for Boot Camp. It reads:

LOG BOOK:
You will recieve a log book on the first day of the program...you will be required to fill out this log daily and brig it to class for it to be checked. I am including a half book in this email so you my read the intro to our program, please take the time and read it thourghly, if you have time before the program begin to adjust to this new schedule. ...see attached doc.

Are you kidding!? I have to admit that I sneak chocolate chip cookies!?!?

FREQUENCY:
Our program will be running all 5 days a week (Mon - Fri). if you have opted for the 3-day version you are welcome to pick any 3 days that fit your busy schedule....
Winter Schedule:
This means we will be doing 3 days Inside and 2 days outside. Please remember we have a 40 degree rule...if the temp is under 40 we will be inside.

We will discuss the eating program in detail plus do a sample workout. I suggest to begin doing some physical activity if you do not do some already. The first weeks of the program you are usually quite stiff and sore. I reccommend to start drinking plenty of water. (1/2 your body weight in ounces a day, Example: 160 lbs = 80ounces of water a day)

I pray my already very frequent and intense workouts... are good enough to get me in the starter program!

Things to bring:

Cross training shoes
Water
towel

We expect you to dress approiately...this means no short shorts or tube tops. We are professional and expect the same from students. Please wear spandex shorts under your regular shorts. When we are outside, dress for the weather, wear layers, gloves or whatever you may need to stay warm.

I also have to sign a waiver! I havent read it yet, but i'm sure it gives them the right to yell and scream and hurt us and make us use muscles we didn't know existed. yeah!!! What fun this will be! *kinda sceeered*

Drop and Give Me 10

Kids! Momma's going to Bootcamp!

*cheerleader jump*

I'm so excited! For the month of February I'll be joining a group of temporarily insane fitness fanatics and going to bootcamp hell. I can't wait to be screamed at and degraded and belittled by my leader! Our leader has trained in Martial Arts for over 20 years and holds a 5th dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a 4th dan black belt in Kito Ryu Jujitsu.

He was the Hand-to-Hand combatives guest instructor for the 101st airborn in Fort Campbel Kentucky, 2nd batalion, was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as most Outstanding Martial Artist and he produced 5 world champions in the Native American World Games.

Sounds fun, doesnt it!??! My sweetie pie Richard bought it for me! Thanks babe!!!

Tricep Tuesday

It’s about time I checked in on the blogosphere so here I be. I thought it might be an auspicious time for the semester gym update. For starters, a female student had beat me to the punch in securing my fav machine but you’ll be proud to know I restrained myself from knocking her block off and reclaiming my rightful place as Queen of the Expensive Treadmill. Instead, I resignedly headed for the alternate fav which is its exact twin but squeakier. No biggie. Tuesday/Thursdays at noon make for entertaining people-watching as a phys ed class is held at that time and a motley bunch of students walk/run on the indoor track for a solid thirty minutes. And since it’s a brand spanking new semester, there are a lot more students frequenting the gym which aids in whiling away the endless hours (ok, minutes) on said machine.

Cast of Characters:

Napoleon Dynamite is a former Wellness Center student worker who bears an uncanny resemblance to that character and I've written about him in a previous post. He’s always at the front of the pack leading the suffering minions and actually, he’s a very nice guy. Just thought I’d mention him again.

Next came the Giggle Twins. This duo consisted of one petite adorable Asian gal and her taller American friend. Her pal must have be quite the comedienne as her little buddy burst into fits of annoying laughter during every lap. The giggle is actually more like a jarring gasp as if she was struggling for breath in a most irritating manner. (Yes, she’s jogging so therefore she very likely is gasping for breath, but I really don’t think that totally explains the racket). Like maybe her buddy reaches over and tries to strangle her every time she made that aggravating noise. I've been mulling this over for some time and I think I'd like turn Asian for a change and display a lovely exotic exterior. “S” swears I cannot pull this feat off but maybe if I dropped a few pounds and got brown contacts and a dark wig it just might work. No?

Then there’s Shelf Ass Gal. Now I don’t mean to sound cruel but just how does one get so grossly out of proportion? I mean, she’s not that large but her butt is massive. I would think the only solution to that perplexing problem would be lipo. Also, the poor dear truly needs to invest in a sports bra as a tremendous amount of boob floppage was going on. Just sayin’.

Another older gal who simply must weigh close to 300 lbs plodded around the perimeter. I heartily applaud her as I know heavier gals have a hard time even showing up at the gym for fear of ridicule, but by golly she enrolled in this class and is making an effort to change her passive habits. Baby steps, ya know? It all begins with baby steps.

And last but far from least, though they were not part of this class, were the Three Amigos strutting around the free weight area like badass Banty roosters. I swear they must have called each other up to coordinate their workout gear as they each sported snug black muscle shirts and humongous black and white athletic shorts that could have held at least one extra guy apiece. Now that is not a lense-searing image I really want to cultivate but it's true. I did a lot of covert eye-rolling watching those three but they must not be newbies to the gym as each sported emerging biceps.

Anywho, this concludes my report on the noon gym crowd and here’s to Tricep Tuesday! :)

British Ways

Lordy, y'all!

Did you see the latest video on Britney Spears!?! She's sporting a new accent. It's really freaky. The girl has gone off the deep end...

It's so sad really.

Speed of Lightning

Baby Z and I went with some friends to the Boat and RV Show this weekend. I fell in love with the Yamaha Waverunner!!!

My dad and I have been looking at boats. We'd like to get out skiing this summer and we've been eyeing a few boats... but then we spotted these! Gosh they are so much fun. I know you can't haul friends out with you and party hard while on the water... but jetting across the lake at 60mph is such a rush! (I see speeding tickets in my future!) I then suggested that maybe we should get a boat designed to haul your little watercraft. We could drive these right up the back of our speed boat! whooohooo what fun!

North for the Summer

Baby Z's going to Canada and Alaska!

Not alone... my whole entire family is going on a big ultra long family vacation! We're going to start our 9 day trip in Seattle. My mom has a sister there and my sis and I have never gone to visit. So, we're going to stop there first and visit the fam before we head north.

What fun this will be! Baby Z gets a passport too!!!

I hope to get cool (no pun intended... hehe) pics like Chica did!
