Just Phuket

This might be our next vacation spot.

Phuket Island in Tailand. The beaches look great, the entertainment sounds fun and the activities seem endless.

IQ 'U'

Though my beloved Browns LOST their Sunday season opener on home turf (what’s up with that???), I did manage to pull off a resounding victory in the FFB arena against the sissy Storm Troopers and that is even more astounding considering I had failed to acquire a tight end! This has now been rectified for this weekend’s match-up against the revolting Raw Dawgs. Nothing like having all your ducks in a row, eh? As of this morning, a sexy coworker has volunteered his manly football expertise and will be sharing coaching duties with the grateful Ms. Circe. He closely scrutinized our team from my computer as we cozily ‘put our heads together’ over possible changes/replacements. This may prove to be a stimulating season! ;)

Just for the heck of it I took one of those online IQ tests last night and scored very close to a previous test from awhile back. This piqued TBC’s interest and though having imbibed beer and currently downing Dominican run, he decided this would be an ideal time to assess his intellectual smarts. Not one to squash an outstanding concept in its gurgling infancy, I reset the quiz for his input and quietly slunk out so as not to impair the intoxicated firing of brain synapses. Eavesdropping from the living room, I overheard loud repetition of questions, muttered pondering, and occasional departures for additional ice. Quelling my curiosity, the exam was finally completed and I raced in to discover the anticipated results. Much to my utter amazement, the score was of decent numbers though trailing mine from a considerable distance. Puffed up like a peacock, he printed out his score so as to bask in the reflected glow of accomplishment. All well and good but he had input our cat's moniker for name so the document tells Stubbs the fine points of his testing abilities. Priceless!

After dramatically fainting upon viewing my last bill, I would change the wording to read Cingular

Verizon Introduces New Charge-You-At-Whim Plan
August 21, 2006 | Issue 42•34
NEW YORK—Verizon Communications, Inc. announced a new service package for its wireless and residential customers that would charge them widely varying, but always high, fees every month depending how the communications giant feels at the time. "Our Charge-At-Whim packages offer the same mediocre quality and insufferable level of customer service you’ve come to expect," a Verizon spokesman said Tuesday. "But it adds an unjustified, arbitrary and, if you’ll allow us to boast, frankly unjustifiable method of determining just how much you’ll pay for them." Packages start at "oh, $69.99 a month, let’s say?" and went into effect about three or four months ago.

Oh Happy Day

My intentions at lunch were to just run a quick errand. I had a check I needed to deposit and I needed to get some cashola. I jumped in the MM and while getting situated I spotted a couple of bills that needed to be dropped off at the post office, so I rummaged thru my filing system (console) and found the stamps. Only two left, so that meant I also needed to get stamps, which I might as well do today since I'm dropping off these bills.

I headed off to the bank, signed the check, filled out the deposit slip and sent it on its way to the teller. She messages back ' we need your ID so you can receive cash back '. I go digging for my ID and it is nowhere to be found. I panicked but then quickly realized it's in Richard's wallet. Right where I put it Saturday night so I wouldnt have to carry a purse. I very sweetly push the call button and explain that I don't have my ID with me. 'Just a moment' and she obviously consults with someone. She comes back to tell me that they will go ahead and give me cash but next time I must have my ID with me. Okie dokes...

So on to the post office. I hop out of MM with my bills and cashola in hand to get stamps and when I walk in, a flipping line 15 people deep and one, only ONE, person working the counter. I watched as the other people in front of me seemed irratable - indicating that they'd already waited a good amount of time. The guy working the counter seemed in no hurry. He was helping two little Indian guys (dot, not feather) with a huge adult size box that they were wanting to mail. Counter guy whipped out a tape measure and measured all angles, weighed it, had deep discussions with little guys, measured some more... while the people in line rolled their eyes and huffed and puffed in disgust. I decided that today might not be the day to buy stamps, so I jumped out of line and hopped back in the MM. Just as I was pulling out, the two little guys came waltzing out the front of the post office carrying the adult sized box. They didn't mail it afterall.

I wasn't hungry before, and had no intentions of eating, but at this point I was starving. I drove around the corner to Wendy's and grabbed a salad and a diet coke. I checked the sack and it had all the goods... except a straw. I'd already pulled too far out of the drivethru to grab one, so I had to wing this. I wore white pants today... panic ran thru me. Not only that, but I got the southwest salad... complete with chili. lol

I made it chili-spot and diet coke free!

I got back to work and a friend of mine had sent me an email with this picture attached. Maybe this is a message to me. hahahah

Blogger is taking forever to upload pictures. I sent a mulitmedia picture and it's never shown up... maybe I should just call it a day and go shopping.

Day of Despair

The flawless blue sky portended a typical gorgeous warm September day in Oklahoma. Dressed to reflect the balmy weather, I hopped in the GP only to realize I had forgotten my cell phone. Oh well. This was the first time in the two years I had possessed one that this had ever happened, but no biggie. At approximately 8:30 am CST, one of our comp techs at the time, “J,” and I discussed the upcoming work orders for the day when “B” burst in from the library. While listening to the car radio coming to work he had heard a plane had hit the World Trade Center. “J” and I digested this unusual information as I thought to myself, ‘How can a little plane not see a massive building right in front of it?’ Or maybe the pilot had a heart attack and had wandered into skyscraper territory?' Details were sketchy and he and “J” left my office. Quite soon thereafter the unthinkable was declared and my office watched helplessly from my boss’ TV as events unfolded before our astonished eyes. Now two planes had hit the towers and numbly we stared at the flickering screen. No. NO! OMG NOOOOOOO!!! American planes with innocent Americans aboard, and innocent people unimaginably dying in the twin towers. A chill ran through me when the newsman announced the fact that hijacked commercial jets were employed. I remember asking the gathered audience if anyone had read Tom Clancy. One of his realistic novels (I don’t recall which) had eerily used the same technique as a flying weapon to hit the White House, but it was an almost empty plane. Surely these didn’t have innocent passengers aboard? The horrible truth unfolded in front of our unbelieving eyes as coworkers silently stumbled their way in to gaze transfixed at the informative rectangle showing unbelievable footage. Ordinary work proved impossible and our understanding president released us at noon. I remember pumping gas at the gas station and running a few quick errands before the long surreal journey home. And once home the televised images sprang to life and remained constant far into the night and for approximately a week as I cried. And cried. And noisily sobbed my breaking heart out for them, for us, for America, for everyone. Learning of the catastrophic disaster that changed our blissfully ignorant, comfortable, naive lives forever. 9/11.

We pause. We reflect. We remember. *bows head in tearful, respectful silence*

Look for the Button

Last night we went with a few friends to play some pool and at my first potty break I found the toilet in... well, working condition, but it made me wonder. The top of the tank was off and laying on the floor and a sign hung over the back saying "Push blue button to flush toilette". I checked out the situation before sticking my hand anywhere near that contraption. I looked inside the tank and saw a blue button and for fun thought i'd push it and see what happened. Sure enough the toilet flushed. Now I realized why the ten girls before me had chosen not to flush the toilet. The idea of sticking your hand in there is really kinda gross, but the button wasnt in water or anything.

A few minutes later one of the girls I was with came back to the group and was talking about this blue button and while she was talking, I realized it said toilette. I asked Richard 'how do you spell toilet (he thinks i'm crazy anyway so you can imagine the look on his face when I ask how to spell such an elementary word), I had to double check myself because at that moment I was visualizing toilette and i'm pretty sure that's not how you spell it and i'm pretty positive they weren't going for a more snazzy French version of the word. Kind of like how we say Target like Tar-jae... not Tar-GET. Its Toilet... not Toi-le-tay.

I told him that the sign said toilette. We confirmed that is totally incorrect so off to the Toi-le-tay I went to snap a picture. I sent them to our other site... you can check them out there.

Painting the Town Red

Last night I got my hair colored.

Usually i'm a blonde but this time I went a little wild *snicker* and told Sheri to put some red in my hair. We did three colors... blonde, chestnut red, and a nutmeg brown and the three colors together really look good. C & P freaked because they have never seen me with hair other than some shade of blonde (it can vary from dark to light blonde). However, they have no idea that throughtout my life i've had blonde, black, brown (every shade), green, red (not just this time) and orange - which was not on purpose but because of my own mistake. The one time I decided to do my own hair, it went orange. I had to make an emergency phone call to my personal stylist and get the chemical mix formula to take out the Pumpkin orange before I could make the trip to the salon to get her to fix it up right.

We took pics of my new color... with one from behind. Actually that picture was intended for Richard... he loves these pants and my butt in these pants so he snapped the pic. However, it shows my hair... which I hadn't seen from the backside yet... so I decided to share that too! I like my new do.

I've caught a quiet moment

I have been swamped this week and so many things have happened that are great blogging material, yet i've not had any time to post any of it. I hate it when that happens.

I haven't had any time to talk to my friends - I thought Bren had fallen off the face of the earth until I received a short little blip of an email from her today. Tiff has been gone, GFR is MIA, even Circe has been few and far between in her conversations *teary eyed*. Soccer season has started and it keeps me pretty busy when thrown in with all the other ten million kabillion things I have to do.

On top of all that, two of my most favorite-est blogs are going belly up, reorganizing, changing. Dan won't be doing his Daily Dump and Widwest is leaving our favorite two-some at Kiss and Blog. This news is so sad... Circe and I have exchanged emails expressing our shock and sadness. If you two are reading... we will miss you deeply and hope you come back!

C somehow wiped out his IPod and we've been working on getting music back for him. I messed with it one night and happened - have completely no idea how I did this - to load the Luau music for him. So for a couple of days he's been singing The Beach Boy's Wipeout. After spending quite a bit of time on it last night, Richard and C hit a 'bump' with downloading the music and out of frustration and exhaustion just gave up and hit the bed. Not before I heard 'mom, we have got to work on that tomorrow night!' So I guess I will be tackling that this weekend.

I'm so looking forward to our trip to Miami. White sand, surf and fru-fru drinks! Yeah, baby!

Are You Ready For Some Football???

Seeing as how my private league FFB Commish got “too busy” what with trotting out the flimsy excuse of becoming a new father, I quickly scrambled to enter a Yahoo Public League employing the appropriate yet clever moniker of Raging Alcoholics. I checked this morning to find the autodraft complete. To my chagrin, distractions and excessive busyness caused me to totally forget to request my beloved Tony!! *sniffs loudly* Hoping against hope, I punched up his name to discover someone else in my league has the auspicious privilege of utilizing him for their tight end. Still, I’m happy and working on gearing up for an exciting fun season! (I LOVE FFB!) And for the record, GO BROWNS!!!

More good news. When I returned home last evening, I found a brand new shiny silver (requested a color change) Razr awaiting me. All seems to be in working order so Ms Circe is back in cellular business. :)

Hospitable beach buddies were in town the past few days and though their dance card was extremely overbooked, I did get to exchange pleasantries, send my love to our mutual friends dodging hurricanes, and wish them a safe return to my beloved OBX. We love you, “T” and “B.”

Motorola Mishaps

My cell phone woes continue. Several weeks ago without warning my preshus pink phone started shutting down. The first time it happened I actually thought someone was playing tricks on me by sneaking into the office, cackling evilly to themselves as they slyly performed this dastardly deed. Last week the shutdowns increased alarmingly causing me to inform my Cingular dealer of the problem and possible solution. The replacement phone arrived via Fedex on Tuesday and I immediately started adding phone numbers not saved to the SIM card. After entering ALL of them, I started making minor changes only to have this lookalike lock up on me. WTF??? The little darling became totally useless and I forced myself to remain calm knowing I was dead in the water until Wed when I could take this POS in and straighten things out. Once again “software issues” raised their ugly head and since my original phone works a smidge better than the replacement, the replacement was returned and I’m expecting No. 3 to arrive today. Three’s the charm, right?

Though this situation has been a stressful, royal pain in the ass, the shining bright spot is our adorable Cingular rep, “S”. This 20something flower child was most definitely born in the wrong decade as all she lacks are white patent leather go-go boots and a raised dancer’s cage from which to wildly gyrate in. Picture this if you will…long, teased, ebony locks held back with a headband, perfectly made up face, lovely dark eyes, French-manicured nails topped off with revealing, hippie-style attire lovingly hugging her well-rounded body. And as entertaining as it is to look at her, she radiates caring sweetness from within. Here’s hoping she regularly receives merit raises for her excellent customer service because that cutiepie deserves it. :)

Someone is gettin Neekid!

Holy crapoly! I heard about this a bit yesterday, but this morning it was all over the radio. I wonder how long it will take for Playboy or Penthouse to cut her a deal!?

Stick People

This is something that has weighed heavy on my heart for many weeks now...

There is this chick that goes to the same gym I do and no matter what time I go, she's there. Lately i've had a pretty erratic workout schedule and she's still there... so that means a) she works out all the damn time or b) she follows me and goes when I go because she a) loves to bug the shit out of me or b) is secretly totally in love with me and i'm her motivation to live.

I'm leaning more towards she's got major issues and works out all the time. The first time I saw her, one word came to mind. Anorexic. She is a size minus zero. Her knees are huge and boney and stick out. She's hunched over a bit and her shoulders are razor sharp. She's probably early 20's and a pretty girl... but not because she is horribly thin. I can hit the gym (she's there), go to an hour long kickboxing class and when I get out, she's still on that treadmill. She always picks the same treadmill. Its the only one that happens to be directly in front of a mirror. She walks (at a whopping, non-sweaty 3.6 or 3.8 mph) and looks in the mirror at herself and then if she gets bored with that she picks up her cell phone and will be 'on the phone' for 20 minutes or so... and the whole time she's looking around to see if anyone is watching her (oh we are... but not in the way she wants!), or she's looking at herself in the mirror and tossing her head from side to side to see how she looks 'talking' on her phone. I've noticed that all those times she's 'on the phone'... she's never talking! So, its all an act... to appear important!? dunno.. but its all weird.

She will 'hit the weights' with little 5lb dumb bells and do curls or something. She sits right in the middle of all these huge guys lifting monstrous amount of weight and she's taking up space (little bits) with her baby weights yet trying to appear as if she's on this rigorous workout schedule and building mondo muscles. I wonder what she sees when she looks in the mirror. Does she see fat? Or does she see a wonderful sculpted body? Well, she has neither. She is by no means fat... she's very nasty skinny. Very unhealthy. She doesnt have muscles because there is no place for muscle to even form.

I feel better now that i've shared....

Baby It's You

How is it that we gravitate toward a particular appearance or personality in potential mates? The upshot is I prefer guys looking the polar opposite of me and gal friends resembling spitting images. Have you ever looked at a picture of a stranger and known for a fact that if the opportunity to meet presented itself, mutual attraction would develop and flourish? I have always been drawn to males possessing dark hair, dark eyes and olive skin and while I’m sure part of it is a case of opposites attracting, I also think growing up in ethnic Cleveland surrounded for the most part by sexy Italians constantly grabbing my attention and setting my heart ablaze had something to do with it.

Several years ago I stumbled across the old '80s flick, "Baby It’s You" and everything just clicked into place. While this is not the greatest movie ever released, it was the diametrically opposite couple that held my attention. The Sheik (Vincent Spano) was broody, dangerous, and reeked of smoldering Mediterranean sexuality, and I totally understood the inexorable pull this handsome bad boy exerted on goody-goody Rosanna Arquette. With some minor changes, this showcased and magnified my formative school years in a nutshell.

The cut and dried plot summary explains:

In New Jersey, Jill Rosen, a frustrated high schooler, is intrigued by an enigmatic new student known only as the Sheik. Sheik is an Italian whose primary interests are his car, Frank Sinatra, and Jill. At first she is taken aback by his forwardness, but they soon develop a relationship, much to the chagrin of their parents. Sheik gets expelled from school, and Jill is accepted at an all-girls college. After a fight, Sheik goes to Florida to work in a club lip-synching Sinatra songs. Sheik becomes dissatisfied with his Florida lifestyle and goes back to New Jersey to try to win Jill over.

While that insipid quote is factual and straightforward, the underlying appeal of this movie is better clarified by a user commenter hailing from New York:

In the course of the movie, the on-again, off-again romance between them -which features all the quirkiness and unpredictability of most high-school romances, and then some- lights up, sputters, then heats up again. Free of sci-fi special effects or surrealistic flashbacks, this is a movie for people who love and believe in "romance" in the truest sense of the word - that one brief "Camelot"-like time when two people from different backgrounds and even worlds light up the world for each other, even though they sense it will end all too soon.

Maybe this helps explain the beaming smile on my face when SD, though not of Italian origin, signs off with ‘Ciao Bella.’ ;)

September Song

Greetings gang and welcome to Tuesday. That’s right my flirty friends, it’s not really Monday though it very possibly feels like it. Considering I am still fighting the ‘cold from hell,’ I can’t say that I enjoyed boundless energy or thrilling activities throughout my three-day weekend, but what the heck, it was still nice to be off and thanks to the recent bounteous showers, I did get a lot of (beer-drinking) mowing done.

Gameday Weekend

This holiday weekend has been busy starting with Friday night - and it hasn't let up. Richard and I did spend a majority of Saturday trying to get into Norman to get to the OU game and then after spending the first half sitting in the drizzly rain and crowded accomodations, we spend a great majority trying to get out of Norman. That is just pure craziness there... and we're purely content with catching those football games snuggled on the couch at home or kickin' it with friends at their house or a sports bar. I'll pass on the chaos... its not so fun. You can catch the full story on this blog... I sent some pictures there as the events unfolded and I blogged bout it with the pics.

I hope y'all are having a great Labor Day weekend. It's going to rain today!

Bobble Heads

Friday night we had some friends over... they got a little crazy in the rain and hit the trampoline... got soaking wet. Trampoline's arent just for kids. They are also for big kids who never grow up. lol

False Faces

I so much wanted to end our last summery Friday before Labor Day weekend on a cheery, chipper note but this, alas, was not to be.

Who is really behind the mask? Friend or foe? People let us down. We expect that, but preparation is utterly impossible when caught with our pants around our ankles, free-falling through the rushing, hissing atmosphere upon discovery of ruthless, cold-hearted betrayal. Usually when we think of identity theft and all the misery, hassle and frustration it entails, we picture a lurking greedy, heartless stranger craftily sifting through our trashcan. We rarely envision this callous, lying, conniving snake to be a trusted, cherished friend. For one woman, her best friend.

The last few days have found several of my close relatives flabbergasted, stunned and outraged to discover the enormous tangled web of trickery, sham and deceit surreptitiously inflicted upon them for over a year by one solitary woman who smiled in their face while stabbing them in the back. Their pain and despair have deeply affected me who feels helpless and powerless to right this morally reprehensible wrong. But we all reap what we sow, and eventually the guilty trip themselves up, make mistakes, and blow their carefully concealed cover as the precariously stacked house of cards swiftly tumbles to the ground. And so it happened. Though she high-tailed out of here like a frightened rabbit, she will never outrun the evitable paying of the piper, or the long arm of the law. Details are accumulating and evidence piling up. Why would someone destroy the good name and excellent credit of their friends and family? Some addiction such as shopping? gambling? drugs? For the time being the ‘why’ remains shrouded in mystery. As I watch people I love attempt to glue together the wreckage of their shattered lives, my most fervent hope is that justice prevails.

Breathtaking High Heels

New shoes

Not for the bashful

I have been so busy this week traveling from one side of the state to the other... doing work in little towns here and there. Jay and I jabbered about everything from work, the weather, politics to birthing babies. We compared notes about favorite vacation spots and different clubs we'd been at and who to take where... we educated one another.

Today is an 'in the office' day. Thank God.... now I can catch up on some paperwork and check some sites!

This morning was the usual routine of me standing stark neekid in my closet staring at racks and racks of clothes and thinking I dont have anything to wear. I found a skirt but I couldnt throw anything with it. I had clothing block - kind of like brain block. However, I spied my new shoes that Richard had picked out for me a few weeks ago and I havent had a chance to wear them and it just so happened that they went perfectly with the skirt I was holding. So, I grabbed the shoes and built an outfit from there. It all went rather smoothly and I do look smashing....

I got to work this morning and sashayed down the hall and I got stopped by two men admiring my shoes... and how they make my legs look muscular. (they are muscular... even without the shoes!) We made small talk... giggled... and then I headed off to my office and got stopped again. Um, nice... uh... how are you this morning? I knew what he was getting at. I said 'you like my new shoes? Richard picked them out.. they are my stripper shoes!' He said 'exactly what i was thinking! Lets find you a pole!'

I think my shoes are a hit with all the guys... *giggle*

Thank you baby for buying me the shoes. ;)

Over The Top Angel Goo

Last night while at the grocery store, I bought the best looking bunch of strawberries with intentions of making my crew angel food cake and strawberries. Tonite I got home from the gym and Richard had mowed the yard, loaded the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen and had C and P finished with their homework. They made their requests for dinner and I started cooking and while their tortilla soup was cooking I mixed up the angel food cake mix and then began my hunt for the cake pan. After digging for what seemed forever (probably only couple of seconds because that's about as long as my attention span is when digging for cooking accessories) I found the bundt cake pan and thought oh this will do.

Wrong o'! It won't do. After the cake had been cooking for a while I got to smelling this burned smell... i stirred the soup because I thought I was burning it, but it didn't act burned. It took about - no time at all - to think about the cake. The thought had crossed my mind that maybe it wouldnt fit in that pan because the regular pan i use for those kinds of cakes is alot bigger... but I thought for sure we could make due with this one. The other one is probably still boxed up - somewhere. I opened the oven door to see this (above). The biggest dump of mess... and the worst burnt smell. I threw a cookie sheet underneath it to catch what was left to overflow and left it to cook.

The final product (not the extra crunchies on the oven door, racks and bottom) turned out pretty good. The cake is great with the strawberries....

This weekend will be my first experience with Easy Off oven cleaner. I hope the stuff works... or i'll either a) have to call mom to come over to help or b) buy a new oven :)

All Choked Up

With crystal clarity I have come to acknowledge the foolishness of embellishing one’s condition as irony will soon follow on the red stiletto heels of extreme exaggeration. And indeed it has. Much like a house of cards, things quickly headed downhill this morning when I attempted (and that is the key word here) to alleviate my wretched symptoms by swallowing cold medicine in pill form swiped from Student Services. While I am aware of my skittishness in downing jumbo cylinders, I have rarely experienced a problem will regular-sized ones. After getting the first one down I proceeded to completely choke on the second rascal sending a spewing fountain of drenching water splashing in all directions. Loud, gasping, animal-like noises launched the paramedics (aka my dept) who raced to my rescue and lined up in hasty formation in preparation for beginning the Heimlech maneuver. My airway was not completely obstructed and though partially stuck, I waved assistance away as I struggled to aid in the pill’s treacherous journey down my unwilling esophagus. I tried drinking more water but was only able to take tiny sips as this tablet was in no hurry to reach its proper destination. After several minutes, it reluctantly crossed the finish line, leaving me shaking and distraught. Though concluding with a happy ending, I later discovered I had also sprayed my keyboard with an ominous stream. Rather than focusing on a rarely used, extraneous key like the 'tilde' or something, it headed straight for the spacebar. So besides scaring my fellow workers half to death and having my keyboard replaced, I now have an extremely sore throat which wasn’t helped by eating the thick, sticky peanut butter sandwich I brought for lunch.

When explaining my distressful dilemma to an empathetic comrade who missed the commotion, he showed great caring, concern and support, and suggestively demonstrated amusing and innovative measures that would assist me in overcoming this constricted throat problem. Thanks darlin, I just may take you up on it when you least expect it. ;)

And in conclusion, I prepared an important FedEx letter only to realize I had forgotten to add the cover page. Jumping up from my seat, I scurried to the lobby desk, grabbed the parcel and ripped it open to discover to my horror it was not my document but one originating from the finance office. Under the gun, I quickly made two new ship requests and while dear Ray impatiently waited on Ms Circe, I again attempted processing…only to be given a date error by the obstinate machine. Trying not to panic, I redid the current date, dispensation was completed, and the crucial bundles placed in Mr. FedEx’s competent hands. I shudder to think what trials still await me before day’s end. I need a drink!

Jessica to keep Quiet!

On my way to work this morning I heard a little blip about how Jessica Simpson is ordered to not talk about her new album... then the radio siren said 'its not what you think', but I didn't get to hear what it was because I was at work and as normal... I was pushing the clock and needed to get inside.

I found it... she's lost her voice. That's it!!? I thought it was something - but its nothing.

Yesterday, on the same morning show, they had Nick Lachey call in and do an interview. That guy is so sweet and seems half way smart and he's done so much better without Ms Botox Simpson. Sending her packing has done him a world of good... then the thought crossed my mind: Jessica Simpson would be a good match for ol Kevin Federline. *giggle giggle*

Rhinestone Alcoholism

First I wanted to let you know I was at the tippy top of death’s doorstep this past weekend. Er, ok fine, actually I’ve been experiencing a nasty cold. This is my first and hopefully last snifflefest for the season. Though far from fatal, its symptoms certainly make for a miserable existence until the dreary course is run and the victim left to pick up the shattered pieces of their miserable existence. (Circe = Drama Queen)

Thanks to my untold suffering, I was unable to go boating or attend the Wichita Flight Festival this past weekend. Much as I would have loved to have gone, the real drawing card wasn’t present so I stoically dealt with the hand life gave me. Maybe next year…

I read where my No. 1 Snooky Wookums will be heading to Buckeye country in his quest for unfettered truth and the American way. We shall have to stay tuned.

The Topfive.com’s 5 Sequels to "Snakes on a Plane"

5> "Pee Wee's Big Snake Adventure": Pee Wee Herman Saves the day when a spitting cobra rears its ugly head in a theater.

4> "Must Love Snakes": A thinly disguised soft porn flick about a pizza delivery/escort service/pet store operation run by handsome gigolos. Ron Jeremy portrays all of the snakes.

3> "Snakes in a Skank on a Plane": Britney Spears stars as a young woman with a unique plan for smuggling rare reptiles.

2> "Asp Good as It Gets": Cantankerous Jack Nicholson's back, this time grousing about having to keep an eye on his gay neighbor's pink serpent -- *and* his pet snake!

1> "Snails on a Train": There's this train, see, in France....

I finally utilized my Cingular Rebate card while filling the cavernous, yawning jaws of my darling GP at noon. Normally I like to quickly slip my card through the slot and hurry on my merry way but this time I went inside to ensure the smooth operation of this unusual transaction. All went well and I even had a guy in line graciously offer to pay for the filling of my tank! I politely declined as I felt certain something else might be wanted in 'trade' had I naively acquiesced. ;)

Once again the spammers who enjoy filling my work email have resourcefully resorted to some startling subject lines in their hope to lure the unwary into blindly tripping headfirst into their malevolent, baited traps. “Rhinestone alcoholism” was probably the most fascinating followed by “petrificate your manhood.” I wonder if that’s anything like petrify? In any case, I don’t have a 'manhood' to try that on and even if I did, it sounds positively painful!

Have a trippin Tuesday,

Mexican Bar B Q

This past saturday was my sister and brother-n-law's annual Mexican Bar-B-Q... which for the first time in EVER that it was threatened by rain! It hasn't rained all summer - except for the little bit of rain we've gotten here in the past week - until friday night and saturday, and it clouded up and decided to rain and throw some lightning spears around. It actually was really nice... because had it not rained, it would have been sweltering hot so we were happy with the droplets of water. Mark grilled for hours and finally about 10:30pm we had slabs of ribs, grilled chicken and beef to make fajitas and all kinds of extra fixin's. Not to mention the countless drink concoctions going on in the kitchen. I kept everyone's glasses full of margaritas, strawberry and peach daiquiri's and Mark had wine taste testing. Someone brought smoked Halibut dip which was a favorite of yours truly!

Free Throw Friday

It has been awhile since I cataloged the fabulous quintet of sexy guys and striking gals, so to flourishingly finish off this hectic, whirlwind week I proudly present the victorious winners in the "Circe Circle of Cirens." *drumroll please*

Gorgeous Gals

No. 5: Sandra Bullock

She’s pretty and funny and I loved her in Miss Congeniality. And yes, I own both I and II on DVD.

No. 4: Drew Barrymore

She is more cute than beautiful but sexier than hell. She appeals to guys AND gals. Rwwrrr…. Loved her in "Ever After", "Never Been Kissed", "The Wedding Singer," and especially "Charlie’s Angels."

No. 3: Reese Witherspoon

Again, more cute than beautiful but her winning smile and sweet manner just makes for a knock-out combination. And of course I possess both "Pleasantville" and "Legally Blonde" I and II.

No. 2: Roselyn Sanchez

Talk about a smoldering ethnic beauty—whoa baby! I was mesmerized watching her in "Boat Trip", especially her sultry, erotic dancing in the cruise ship's nightclub. Smokin………. ;)

and retaining the coveted No. 1 slot: Catherine Zeta-Jones

Drop Dead Gorgeous. Michael Douglas should be thanking his lucky stars and popping that Viagra by the handful. ;) "Chicago" was ok, but watching lovely Ms. Zeta-Jones proved to be the magnetic drawing card.

Hottie Hunks

No. 5: Charlie Sheen

Yeah yeah, he wouldn’t make 'Model Husband of the Year' let alone 'Model Human Being,' but there is something about this fetching bad boy. You must admit he was pretty good in "Hotshots" and "The Chase".

No. 4: Stephen Colbert

Smart funnyman. Mr. Prep makes me want to rip those stodgy spectacles right off his chiseled face and have my way with him. And yes, I voted for that bridge in Hungary to bear his distinguished name. Colbert Nation rules!

No. 3: Conan O’Brien

Funny, playful and sexy. I just want to tousle his carrot-hued locks and throw him down on a fuzzy bear rug right there in front of his transfixed audience.

No. 2: Nick Lachey

I would be lying through my pearly whites if I admitted being familiar with his music but he’s got nice eyes, nice bod, nice everything….

And the All-Time No. 1 Knockout…Jon Stewart

He’s got it all—wit, charm, smarts, the best smirk and most expressive eyebrows in the media. Jon is hot, hot, HOT and I want to ravish him repeatedly until he begs for mercy. ;)

In conclusion, I am truly thrilled it’s finally Friday but I’m extremely sleepy today as silly me texted my preshus SD till the wee hours resulting in very little shut-eye. Yeah, he’s worth it…;) I think a fair, workable solution might be for each of us to move east and west respectively by one time zone resulting in synchronous harmony for this entangled duo. What say you, baby?

Redhawks vs Someone

I got Redhawks tickets today at work and so we headed out to the game tonight for Thirsty Thursday. It was H O T. Sultry, sticky, humid, so thick you could cut it with a knife HOT. We managed to make it to the game right as it was beginning... not our usual 2nd inning entry. However, we struggled to see it all thru to the end. We had to gracefully and all sticky sweaty slide out at the top of the 9th. As we drove past we caught a glimpse of the scoreboard and it appeared as if the Redhawks were still one run ahead... hope they pulled thru. Guess you can tell i'm a totally devoted fan. I love baseball... but it was hot!

It's gettin hot in herrre

I don't think I shared this pic of me and Richard... I must share! This is one that we kind of posed ourselves for. The little photographer was setting up the camera and trying to get all squared away and I was jacking around... and just kind of propped myself on his shoulder. She liked the idea and snapped the photo. Its one of my favorites!

Go Guard

Back when I worked at the multinational conglomerate, I got acquainted with several security guards on the premises. One was “K” who was head of a reinforcement team brought in for extra protection. K was quite handsome and darn flirty. My friend Janet, a gorgeous, witty blonde, and I would saunter over from our building and meet him in the snack bar on breaks. Well-liked, outgoing and gregarious with mesmerizing blue eyes, K was putty in my unwitting hands. I discovered a noteworthy development through an ordinary conversation when he recounted a typical morning at ‘Security Central.’ Apparently each guy in their group had selected one particular gal who they considered their special female. From their distinctive mirrored window, Ms. Wonderful would be carefully observed as she made her way from the parking lot into her respective building and woe to wandering eyes of any other guy who had the audacity to make flirtatious, playful comments about his woman! (talk about jealously territorial...) Totally surprised to learn of this arrangement, I asked who liked Janet and he gave me the name of a guy I didn’t know. I then asked who his sweetie was and much to my surprise learned it was me! *shy smile*

Another cutie I got to know was “M” from the regular security dept. M was really young and strictly eye candy as search though I might, I found no substance behind the pretty face. I moved over to Chaos College and lost track of my uniformed men. I had heard through the grapevine that K had joined the police force and then later moved back to his home state of Louisiana. Occasionally I would see M’s name in the local rag in reference to some minor run-in with the police. Once I even read of some medical issue occurring at the fast food restaurant he was employed at but again, I hadn’t kept up with where life’s current had transported him. Until this past Sunday. I opened the thick edition of our paper to find his smiling face gazing up at me—from the obit page. His current town of residence (out-of-state), background, and listing of relatives were laced throughout the column but no mention was made of the cause of death. What had happened? Car accident? Disease? Jealous lover? I guess I will never know. Carefully I clipped the article. Farewell, security guy. Rest in peace... :(

Hollyweird

I used to be a huge fan of Tom Cruise... I loved him, I really did. However here lately he's just been turning into this freak and especially since meeting Katie Holmes... and then when that baby thing happened. He just went off the deep end! They are weird!!! Well it appears as if the weirdness is bothering not only me, but the Top Guns at Paramount.... check it out!

On one side is the chairman of Viacom, Inc., which owns Paramount Pictures. On the other is the industry’s biggest and most bankable star, whose last seven films have each generated over $100 million.

Redstone said Tuesday that Paramount would sever its long and profitable relationship with Cruise/Wagner Productions, Cruise’s company with producing partner Paula Wagner. Redstone told the Wall Street Journal that Cruise’s
“recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount.”

Before the Butt Crack of Dawn

I got a front row parking space today. Usually i'm dragging in at the last possible moment and I get stuck parking in BFE, but today i'm leaving really early, so I headed into the office really early... and i'm up front! It will shock everyone. In fact, when I can in Jay asked 'what is going on!?!?' I should probably write this down... doesn't happen very often.

It rolls off the tongue

Golly Wally! It's been a busy day!

I mean... week! I havent had a chance to even think about the site in the past two days. I had a meeting this morning with my area. I stayed up last night and typed up my list and made notes with each item. I had it all arranged in the order I wanted to address each item and when I finally got everyone in the conference room they all jabbered like a bunch of school girls until I finally got them settled down to listen. Its just me and ten men... *giggle*

We got thru each of my points of interest without incident and had conversation about each topic that was really productive. They put their two cents worth in... and I made notes... and we made it allllll the way to the end... then things went bad. In a good way though... but it was bad.

Someone made a comment about someone else's butt. The commentor didn't realize what he'd said... innocently. However, the rest of the room caught it, busted up laughing and the jokes rolled from there. For 15 minutes it was one Chris Rock/Eddie Murphy comment to another. Tears were rolling and bellies aching from laughter. We were cracking ourselves up... and just praying that HR couldnt hear a word we said.

I think the meeting ended on a good note. I ended it with 'remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas'... and that applies to the conference room too!

Pandemonium Part Deux

Greetings Gang! Let’s see what can foul up, fall through or explode today, shall we? My pencils have wandered off to parts unknown, I have a blister on my foot from wearing cute but uncomfortable ruby sandals to last week’s orientation and I’ve never copied, faxed, or Fedexed so much in my life. As we edged closer to the start of the semester, the amount of useless, annoying spam increased proportionately and the spelling has gotten more inspired and resourceful so as to wiggle through the formidable guardian rules and filters. Here is an example I received yesterday with extra bonus points for creativity of this common spam term: ejacculatte. It looks attractive when typed and sounds like a frothy, new coffee concoction, doesn’t it? ;)

Keys Run Amok

Chaos reigns supreme in Circeland as one might expect. Adding to the hectic first day turmoil was losing my GP key. After frantic requests for assistance, it was found cowering in some dusty, remote corner of the neighboring structure undergoing renovation. I hate it when devices run amok and try to escape!

Much more has happened, I’m experiencing the mother of all headaches and I have no time to expand on this precarious predicament but tomorrow is another day and I’ll try to play catch-up manana.

My new tshirt addition. Mickey is so cute!

The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

We saw that movie and its a hoot. Go here, and you can race!

This past friday night we met my friend Becky at the State Fair Speedway to watch the Pro Stocks, Factory Stocks, Super Sprints and Champ Sprint cars. We sat for over four hours. It was hot. No, wait... it was flippin hot with NO breeze whatsoever and even though we were protected from the sun (races start at 7:30pm), it made no difference because the humidity was thick enough you could cut it with a knife. I wore as little clothing as possible and still that was too much. We all just sat there watching the cars go round and round... all without much movement because each time we shifted in our seats that caused our body temperatures to rise thus creating more heat around us. We did happen to sit, conveniently enough, to the liquid refreshment stand :)

The track was dirt track which is sprayed with water before the races begin, but towards the end of the racing the dirt has dried out and is flung up in the air by the cars... creating a nice dust storm for the spectators. The rubber from the tires had created some sort of slickness on the track too... it looked like that 'black ice' that we experience during the winter months from water being on the road and it freezes into that dangerously slick stuff. As the night wears on, i'm not sure if the drivers get tired and are anxious for the races to end, or if the driving conditions progressively get worse with each lap, but they increasingly wreck and stall out. The last race, which should have taken about ten minutes, took about 40 I think. One of the collisions took about 10 mintues to clean up... the cars couldnt be unhooked from one another so they had to drag the whole mess off the track in one giant piece. They started the race again and within minutes... a yellow light and someone else had a mishap. I love to go watch the races but it certainly get tiring when you're trying to watch and it really never gets anywhere because of all the stopping due to wrecks or other little issues.

Anyways... made me think of Ricky Bobby. hahaha
